Behaviour Support is beneficial for people who may use their behaviours to communicate their needs. Behaviour is often showcasing unmet needs and it can take a different approach to find out what the unmet needs are and how we can assist to fulfill them.
Our Behaviour Support and Allied Health team works to Activ’s values, in particular, Listen Loudly and being Customer Driven, to listen to and learn about who people are, and what their true needs might be.
We focus on being person-centred, working out what to do when someone is communicating using their behaviour, to help them, and the people around them be calm, and feel safe.
Our team works closely with our customers, their family and support networks. They draw on their fields of expertise, which include Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Social Work and Psychology, to collaboratively develop plans and programs to ensure each customer has individualised supports to help them thrive and reach their goals.
