Activ Academy

Activ Academy is reshaping the pathway to open employment, preparing people living with disability for work, through work.

Academy members undertake a detailed program of training and development while working at one of Activ’s social enterprises where they gain soft and technical skills to be confident and comfortable to enter open employment.

The Academy takes a holistic approach to employment, ensuring members are set up to succeed. The team works with individuals and their families along with businesses and schools to craft an overarching program of Life Skills development, Pre-Employment Training, School Based Transition Programs, and Diversity and Inclusion training and consulting.

The program is the only one of its kind in WA, with the vision where people living with disability are fully included in the workforce.

Academy members are guided one-on-one by a trainer and mentor who assist them in best practice, understanding, and upskilling. Once an Academy member has mastered soft skills capabilities, they are often ready to learn new technical skills for a new role.

Each delivery of the program is tailored to each individual’s needs and they can progress at their own pace.
