Activ Geraldton customer David is set to take the microphone and perform some of his favourite classic hits at this year’s Activ Heartbeats showcase.
David is honoured to be part of this year’s show, practising regularly at home and on the local karaoke stage to prep for the big show in Perth.
“I’m excited to come to Perth and perform with Activ Heartbeats,” David says.
“I will meet some new people and really enjoy it, and have a good time,” he says.
David (44) has been singing for as long as he can remember, regularly heard humming a tune or singing one of his favourite songs around the house.
“I’ve been a fan of music for a very long time,” he says.
From formal music lessons as a child to singing at his first open mic night with his friend George 12 years ago, David has developed a real love of lots of different styles of music and enjoys regular karaoke sessions at home and in town to practice his singing.
He says practising his singing at karaoke and with YouTube videos has given him the confidence to hit the stage in Perth with Activ Heartbeats.
“I love Jimmy Barnes’ music, he’s got such a beautiful interpretation of songs,” he says.
“Higher Love is my very favourite song by Steve Winwood. I want to sing Higher Love with Activ Heartbeats.”
David will head to Perth soon to rehearse with Activ Heartbeats in preparation for the highly anticipated annual showcase, which is being held on Friday 5 July, 6:30-8:30pm.
